    Highlights is a rural touring scheme which offers a varied programme of high quality professional theatre, music and dance performances and contemporary craft exhibitions to village halls, community venues and rural schools. Its area of operation includes the North Pennines areas of Cumbria and County Durham; the South Lakes and most of Northumberland.

    The scheme is run in collaboration with a network of local volunteer organisers who are offered training and support to enable them to promote events in their own locality.
