Polka Theatre is one of the few venues in the UK exclusively dedicated to producing and presenting high-quality theatre for children aged 0-13. Since the doors opened in 1979, this unique venue has offered children a taste of the thrilling, challenging and inspiring world of theatre.

Polka is a place of magic and wonder, an inspiration to any child’s imagination.’ - The Sunday Times

Over 100,000 children a year come to Polka and are inspired, stimulated and engaged by theatre, often for the first time. Polka strives to stir the emotions, spark the imagination and, most of all, entertain. Its two theatre spaces, the Main Theatre and the Adventure Theatre are designed especially for children so that their first taste of theatre is welcoming and relevant.

Polka aims to stimulate young people’s passion for theatre by providing them with the widest possible range of experiences: from newly commissioned plays to adaptations of well-known stories and books; to visits from children’s authors and illustrators.

At Polka, there’s space to play, to laugh, to discover, to create. It’s a magical place where you can steal a rare moment to share with your children. No two visits are the same; you’ll soon see why Polka is where theatre begins!

Polka is delighted to be taking part in this scheme.
