A Day Less Ordinary Terms and Conditions
COMPETITION: WIN A DAY LESS ORDINARY
- These are the rules of the competition and entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and have agreed to be bound by them when entering this competition.
Who can enter
- The competition is open to residents of England aged 16–25 years, except Arts Council England employees, their close relatives and anyone connected with the competition.
- If the winner (the ‘Winner’) is under the age of 18, he or she must be accompanied by a parent or an adult over the age of 18.
How to enter
- The competition can only be entered via the A Night Less Ordinary website competition pages by answering a multiple choice question.
- Closing date for entries is Monday 31 August 2009.
- The Winner will be selected at random from all the correct entries by a representative from 999 Design. More details available on request from Arts Council England, 14 Great Peter Street, London, SW1P 3NQ.
- The Winner will be asked to complete a review of their ‘day less ordinary’ in the form of a questionnaire. We reserve the right at our discretion to use this and your name to promote the scheme through promotional activity.
- Only one entry is allowed per entrant.
- No purchase is necessary for participation in the competition.
The prize
- There are three prizes available and each of the three prizes will be valid for a maximum of two people only.
- The prize includes lunch for two, two tickets for a Saturday matinee theatre performance (at a theatre participating in the competition – see list supplied), a backstage tour/meet the cast (subject to clause 13 below) and a goodie bag.
- The Winner can select which Saturday matinee performance they would like to attend from the list of participating theatres supplied (subject to availability). This list details the name of the play, the venue location, the date and time of the performance and if there is a backstage tour/meet the cast option.
- Lunch for two will be provided at a restaurant of our choice. We will notify the restaurant details to the Winner upon confirmation of booking the matinee performance. The lunch bill will not exceed more than £80 and will be settled by us directly with the restaurant. We will not pay for any alcoholic drinks and no cash alternative can be offered.
- The prize can only be taken as stated on the list of participating theatres supplied. No compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to use the prize as stated.
What the prize doesn’t include
- A backstage tour will be provided where possible, however this part of the prize is not guaranteed.
- We will not be responsible for any accommodation or travel costs incurred. However in instances where the nearest participating theatre is over twenty miles from the Winner’s address, we may make a discretionary contribution towards travel, up to a maximum of £40, which would need to be agreed in advance of your travel and following receipt of the relevant travel tickets.
- There is no cash alternative and the prize is non-transferable.
- All other expenses (including meals or personal expenses etc), unless specifically stated, are the sole responsibility of the Winner.
Claiming your prize
- The Winner will receive email notification by Monday 7 September 2009.
- If you are selected as the Winner you must supply a certified copy of your passport or another form of photographic identification, with proof of your name and date of birth, to claim your prize by latest Monday 14 September.
- You must also supply written confirmation of a choice of two theatre performances (as detailed in the list of participating theatres) you would like to attend, your home address, email address, and daytime contact telephone number, to claim your prize by latest Monday 14 September.
Misc
- The competition is administered by Arts Council England, 14 Great Peter Street, London, SW1P 3NQ.
- The Winner may be requested to participate in promotional photography.
- If ‘the Winner’ is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made, or the requested information to claim your prize has not been received (as detailed in clauses 20 and 21) we reserve the right to either offer the prize to a runner up, or to transfer the prize to any future competition.
- We reserve the right at our sole discretion to cancel or vary the competition at any stage, if deemed necessary in its reasonable opinion, or if circumstances arise beyond its control.
- We will only ever use your personal details for the purposes of administering and promoting this competition and will not provide them to anyone without permission (with exception to the Winner’s name and location).
- You should note that unless stated otherwise, we do not accept responsibility for any entries not submitted due to technical issues or otherwise.
- We reserve the absolute right to disqualify any entrant to any competition who we consider has used improper means to enter. This includes, but is not limited to, automated entry or any other type of third party software.
Liability
- We cannot accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant entering the competition or as a result of accepting any prize.
- We are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment or software, failure of any email or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet, telephone lines or at any web site, or any combination of these, including any injury or damage to you or any other person’s computer related to the competition.
