Founded in 1913 Birmingham Repertory Theatre (REP) is one of Britain's leading national theatre companies. From its base in Birmingham, the REP produces over twenty new productions each year, some of which tour nationally and internationally. Under the artistic direction of Rachel Kavanaugh, the REP is enjoying great success with a busy and exciting programme.

The REP’s productions regularly transfer to London and tour nationally and internationally. West End transfers and tours have included Cabaret, Wuthering Heights, Our House, Brief Encounter, She Stoops To Conquer, Taking Care Of Baby, Glorious!, The Birthday Party, The Witches, Of Mice And Men, A Doll’s House, Celestina, Hamlet, The Old Masters, The Snowman and The Ramayana.

Developing new and particularly younger audiences is also at the heart of the REP’s work. The theatre currently produces and delivers a year-round programme of learning and participation work to all ages, and has an extensive youth theatre operation involving over 300 young people in six separate groups across the city.

A Night Less Ordinary perfectly complements the extensive range of work that the REP already undertakes in relation both to young people and to audience development.

The REP has also recently been awarded the Family Friendly Kitemark by Birmingham City Council in recognition of the activities and performances the theatre provides to people of all ages.
