Originally opening in 1929 as a super cinema, following a £23million development of the city centre in 1999 the Regent Theatre was officially opened by HM The Queen.
As a number one touring venue, The Regent is presents the largest touring productions and has already played host to the very best opera, dance, drama and musicals, direct from Broadway and the West End. Most notably Glyndebourne Touring Opera has relocated its northern operation from Manchester to the Regent and other highlights have included Royal National Theatre's An Inspector Calls, Royal National Theatre's Noises Off, Disney’s High School Musical and the West End smash hit Stomp.
