    The Theatre Royal, the region’s flagship theatre in the heart of Newcastle, presents nearly 400 performances to over 300,000 people each year and is the regional home of the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre, Rambert Dance and Opera North.

    It attracts some of the biggest names in drama, dance, comedy and musical theatre. Performers at the Theatre Royal include; Sir Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Patrick Stewart, Derren Brown, Ross Noble and Matt Di Angelo.

    Over the year there are productions for all ages and tastes, from Angelina Ballerina to Fame the Musical, with everything in between. With some of the funniest comedies to thought provoking drama, contemporary dance from internationally acclaimed choreographers, the biggest and brightest West End musicals and not to mention the North’s favourite pantomime, attracting more than 75,000 people each year, there really is something for everyone at the Theatre Royal.
