The Theatre Royal Plymouth is the largest and best attended regional producing theatre in the UK and the leading promoter of theatre in the South West. There are two distinctive performance spaces, the Theatre Royal and the Drum Theatre as well as TR2, our award-winning theatre production and education centre.

The range of work presented and produced on the Theatre Royal stage is incredibly extensive and includes major touring drama and musical productions as well as welcoming leading opera and dance companies to the South West. The Theatre Royal also produces its own drama and musical productions each year, many of which tour nationally or transfer to the West End.

The Drum Theatre has built a national reputation for the quality of its programme and its innovative, cutting-edge work in the fields of new writing and physical theatre. In 2007 the Drum Theatre won the Peter Brook Empty Space Award.

TR2 is a truly unique facility in the UK. This architecturally award-winning waterfront building, contains unrivalled set, costume, prop-making and rehearsal facilities, which not only allows the Theatre to produce work at all scales and for both stages, but also attracts some of the most successful producers in the country. TR2 also provides one of the biggest education and outreach programmes for a regional venue in the UK.
