In the heart of Manchester's city centre, in the remarkable Victorian Cotton Exchange, sit two of the most unusual theatre spaces in the country. The theatre is in-the-round, and none of the 700 seats are more than nine metres from the stage. We produce nine productions per year, all of them rehearsed, designed and built especially for us so you won't see them anywhere else. The studio, with just 90 seats, stages our own productions, as well as hosting visiting work from around the country.
The Great Hall of the Cotton Exchange includes our restaurant, bars, craft shop, education lounge and two gallery spaces. Every Friday from 5.30-7pm, we also present Special Fridays at the Exchange (SFX) - free entertainment and happy hour in the bar and craft shop, including music, dance, free running, poetry and comedy (first Friday of every month). Expect the unexpected!

Shakespeare's early comedy of mistaken identity and magic tells the story of two sets of twins in the unlikely situation of being separated at birth and ending up twenty years later in the same city. What are the chances?
Anyhoo, there are wives getting their husbands confused, money going into the wrong hands and a surprise Abbess at the end. It's a must-see with a young cast. Go to the Exchange website and read the Courtesan's rehearsal blog to get all the gossip.
