Southend Theatres consists of two very different venues in Southend on Sea, Essex. The largest is the Cliffs Pavilion which, with a seating capacity of 1630, is the also the largest purpose-built theatre in East Anglia. It offers a varied programme of live entertainment throughout the year including Ballet, Opera, Orchestral concerts, the hottest names in stand-up comedy, popular music, children's shows, pantomime and Rock concerts. The smaller of the two venues is the historic Palace Theatre seating just over 600. The Palace also hosts a variety of entertainment including plays, dramas and comedies, intimate live music concerts across a range of types, and, like the Cliffs, it also presents stand-up comedians.
